I love to drive, and I take pride in knowing the 'law' and being a respectable co-driver on the road. This has only magnified since becoming a mother 3 years ago. The other day on NPR.org they had a segment about "What drives you crazy on the road?" and it got me thinking, this is what I wrote; 1.) The basic rules of merging = LOOK to see if there is space to MERGE into existing traffic. You do NOT have the right of way to just assume your position. Adjust your speed appropriately to MERGE and respect the people who are already there. Often times people just drive straight w/ out even glancing to the oncoming traffic.

Why can't people just follow this basic guideline? It is pretty simple.
